Is Donald Trump the antichrist? (Yes & No)
It depends on who you ask...
By the Rev. Ken Howard
Is Donald Trump the antichrist? Well…
When I was in seminary, our theology professor, Dr. Walter Eversley, who had PhDs in theology (from Yale) and law (from Harvard), frequently answered our theological questions, thusly:
Some of my friends say, “Yes” and some of my friends say, “No.
Me? I agree with my friends.
There has been a lot of chatter on the web about whether Donald Trump is the antichrist, so I thought I would ask my clergy friends what they thought. Their responses fell into two camps:
Some of my friends argue from Scripture that Donald Trump is the antichrist.
Some of my friends argue from church history Donald Trump is not the antichrist.
Me, I agree with my friends…sort of.
On the one hand, one can argue convincingly from church history that the writers had a particular historical figure in mind when they wrote about the antichrist. That would be the Roman Emperor Nero, who led one of many persecutions of the church.
On the other hand, one can argue equally convincingly that while Scripture in some places speaks of the “antichrist” in the singular (2 John 1:7; 2 Thess. 2:3–4, 8–10; Revelation 13:1–10), it speaks of him other places of in the plural – of there being many antichrists (1 John 2:18, 2:22, 4:3).
So I believe that the writer of Revelation (and the other two above) likely had Nero in mind as the antichrist. But I also believe the author of first John when he holds that “many antichrists” both have come and will come, which leaves open the possibility that Donald Trump could be one of them.
So let’s dig into the passages of Scripture that refer to the antichrist and see what we find.
Passage #1: Has Donald Trump claimed to be “the Chosen One”? (Matt. 24:5)
YES.
Donald Trump has not been shy about literally saying “I am the Chosen One!” both directly and by reposting others. (Lutz, 2024).
Passage 2: Has Donald Trump deceived “even the elect”? (Matt 24:24)
YES.
8 out of 10 evangelicals voted for Donald Trump in three separate elections over 12 years, and remain his most loyal followers, with many saying he was sent by God. (Hallowell, 2024)
Passage 3: Has Donald Trump been a deceiver/liar? (2 John 1:7)
YES.
Deception has been Trump’s modus operandi for his entire life. He has lied multiple times to get elected and was convicted of fraud for those lies. He haslied profusely: more than 30,000 times in his first term. His lying has continued into his second term, but people have stopped counting. He has lied to the American people. He has lied to Congress. He lied to the courts. (AP News, 2025; Clark, 2022; Leonhardt, 2017)
Passage #4: Did Donald Trump start a rebellion? (1 Thess 2:3)
YES.
Donald Trump incited a failed coup against the lawful authority of the U.S. Congress with the intent of stopping them from certifying the Electoral College vote, in order to overturn a fully legitimate election and stay in power. (Hodges, 2024; Jan-6 News, 2025; Kim, 2022; Smith, 2025).
Passage #5: Is Donald Trump a lawless person? (1 Thess 2:3)
YES.
To say Trump is lawless is a gross understatement. One need only look at the vast number of executive orders that have been ruled illegal, unconstitutional, or both yo understand that he is the veritable modern-day man of lawlessness (Cotter, 2025; Eddington, 2025; Smith, 2025)
Passage #6: Does Trump exalt himself? (1 Thes 2:4)
YES.
One need only look at the blasphemous images Trump has posted or reposted that portray him as though he were Jesus to know that he not only exalts himself but demands that others exalt him as well. (see below)
Passage #7: Did Trump have a head wound that miraculously healed? (Rev. 13:3)
MAYBE.
When he was shot, his ear wound did seem to heal almost overnight. (Daily Beast, 2024)
Passage #8: Is Trump attempting to establish a global government? (Rev. 13:1-10)
MAYBE.
He did say, “I run the country and the world.” (Atlantic, 2025)
Passage #9: Does he require everyone to wear the “mark of the beast” on their foreheads? (Rev. 13:17)
KINDA.
There is this “mark on the forehead”…
VIRTUALLY.
The Trump administration is implementing Palantir, Peter Thiel’s universal spyware and person-tracking program, which will assign every person in the United States a “Social Credit Score” and allow governments and others to quickly track their people’s movement and personal information through their interactions with payment systems, cellphone use, and any interations with the internet. (Wired, 2025; Watkins, 2025)ACTUALLY.
Elon Musk’s Neuralink project recently implanted its first brain chip in a human being. While Neuralink is being marketed as a groundbreaking medical advance (which it could be) it also harbors the dangerous possibility of enabling government security services and non-governmental bad actors to monitor people’s movements in real time. (Frontiers, 2025; Stat, 2024)
Consider Matthew 5:3-12 (the Beatitudes):
Blessed are the poor…
Blessed are those who mourn..
Blessed are the meek...
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness...
Blessed are the merciful...
Blessed are the pure in heart...
Blessed are the peacemakers...
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness…
Can you imagine Donald Trump thinking that such people are anything but losers?
Consider Matther 25:40-45 (“as you do to the least of these”)
I was hungry and you gave me food
I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink
I was a stranger (alien/refugee) and you welcomed me
I was naked and you gave me clothing
I was sick and you took care of me
I was in prison and you visited me
Do you honestly think Donald Trump would do any of these things or take pity on any of these people?
It’s pretty clear that WWJD1 and WWDD2 are polar opposites.
So what’s the verdict?
Well…
Is Donald Trump the antichrist?… Maybe.
Is Donald Trump the anti (antithesis of) Christ?… Absolutely!
What would Jesus do?
What would Donald do?

I looked into weather Trump is the antichrist and I found a lot of conflicting information. Some accounts say that the antichrist isn’t actually one person. Supposedly there will be more than one antichrist and some scholars say that it is spelled Two ways one antichrist and the other antichrist with a capital letter A.
The antichrist will be the father of lies and Trump certainly is the father of lies and the antichrist will also be the lawless one and Trump certainly is lawless.
Trump and Kushner owned the building at 666 5th Ave. coincidence?
Trump’s grandmother whose name was Elizabeth Christ Trump died on June 6 1966.
In the German language Donald Trump’s full name is Donald Johann Drumpf.
Some scripture says that the antichrist will even fool the elect. The he left her the ones who are predetermined to go to heaven even before they existed.
Some people think that Christianity itself is the antichrist. If you think about it Donald Trump behaves very much like God, he is narcissistic, ill tempered, narcissistic, a pathological liar and when something rubs him the wrong way he goes off on a killing spree the way God has done many times in the Bible.

"How did this happen? Naturally, the Iranian Minister of War credited divine intervention, declaring that “God deserves all the glory.” His nation, he said, fought with the “protection of divine providence. A massive effort with miraculous protection.”
"Well, theocrats gonna theocrat.
"But I lied. That wasn’t a quote from an Iranian official. That’s what Pete Hegseth, our self-proclaimed Secretary of War, said while claiming that one of the worst strategic defeats in American history was a great victory.
"There will be many analyses by military and strategic experts of the Iran debacle. But let’s not lose sight of the larger picture: We were led to disaster by the boastful ignorance of men like Trump and Hegseth — boastful ignorance made even worse by claims that God supports whatever they want to do."
